ECOEA Scholarships to NEA Conferences 2022-2023

ECOEA Scholarships to NEA Conferences

One $500 scholarship to attend will be awarded using the following ECOEA policy. Use the links below to apply for the various scholarships to NEA Conferences. Not all conference locations and dates have been announced. You can read more about these conferences at this link to the NEA website.

8.5      NEA National Leadership Summit Conference Scholarship        (2/10/16)

One $500 scholarship may be awarded to attend the 2023 NEA Leadership Summit, date & location TBD, based upon the following criteria:

  1. The applicant must be a member of ECOEA.
  2. Selection of a winner shall be by a lottery.  Deadline for applications will be determined annually and announced in the ECOEA Newsletter and/or the ECOEA website.
  3. The winner shall send a receipt of expenses to ECOEA after attending the conference and a reimbursement check will be sent to the recipient.
  4. The scholarship will be awarded to a member who has not previously received the NEA National Leadership Summit Conference Scholarship. If all applicants have previously received this scholarship, the most recent recipient shall be disqualified from consideration. (2/20/16)

8.6        NEA Education Support Professional Conference Scholarship

One $500 scholarship may be awarded to attend the NEA ESP Conference dates & location TBD, based on the following criteria:

  1. The applicant must be a member of ECOEA.
  2. Selection of a winner shall be by a lottery. Deadline for applications will be determined annually and announced in the ECOEA Newsletter and/or the ECOEA website. (2/12/14)
  3. The winner shall send a receipt of expenses to ECOEA after attending the conference and a reimbursement check will be sent to the recipient.
  4. The scholarship will be awarded to a member who has not previously received the NEA Education Support Professional Conference Scholarship. If all applicants have previously received this scholarship, the most recent recipient shall be disqualified from consideration. (2/20/16)

8.7      NEA Retired Conference Scholarship

One $500 scholarship may be awarded based upon the following criteria. The NEA Retired Leadership Conference 2023is planned to be in-person at a yet to be determined location.

  1. The applicant must be an NEA-R/OEA-R Member with preference given to NEA-R/OEA-R Life Members.
  2. Retired member must have retired from a local in the ECOEA District.
  3. Selection of the winner shall be by a lottery. Deadline for applications will be determined annually and announced in the ECOEA newsletter/website, ECOEA-R newsletter/website, and OEA-R Newsline.
  4. The winner shall send a receipt of expense to ECOEA after attending the conference and a reimbursement check will be sent to the recipient.
  5. The scholarship will be awarded to a member who has not previously received the NEA-Retired Post-Summit (formerly the NEA National Retired Organizing Conference) Scholarship. If all applicants have previously received this scholarship, the most recent recipient shall be disqualified from consideration. (2/20/16)

8.9  NEA Minority and Women’s Training Conference Scholarship

One $500 scholarship may be awarded to attend the 2023 Minority Leadership and women’s Leadership Training Seminar to Advance Racial and Social Justice, dates and location TBD, based upon the following criteria:

  1. The applicant must be an ECOEA member.
  2. Selection of the winner shall be by a lottery. Deadline for applications will be determined annually and announced in the ECOEA newsletter/website.
  3. The winner shall send a receipt of expense to ECOEA after attending the conference  and a reimbursement check will be sent to the recipient.
  4. The scholarship will be awarded to a member who has not previously received the NEA Minority and Women’s Training Conference Scholarship. If all applicants have previously received this scholarship, the most recent recipient shall be disqualified from consideration.

8.10  NEA LGBTQ  Educational Issues Conference Scholarship

One $500 scholarship may be awarded to attend the conference based upon the following criteria:

  1. The applicant must be an ECOEA member.
  2. Selection of the winner shall be by a lottery. Deadline for applications will be determined annually and announced in the ECOEA newsletter/website.
  3. The winner shall send a receipt of expense to ECOEA after attending the conference and a reimbursement check will be sent to the recipient.
  4. The scholarship will be awarded to a member who has not previously received the LGBTQ Training Conference Scholarship. If all applicants have previously received this scholarship, the most recent recipient shall be disqualified from consideration.
