East Central Ohio Education Association THE DAVID AUGUSTA UNIT SCHOLARSHIPS
David Augusta was a lifelong passionate member for public education and served ECOEA as President and Executive Director. David also served on the OEA Board of Directors representing ECOEA and as an NEA Director. David retired from Louisville City Schools and continued his career as an educator at Stark State College as well as the Executive Director of ECOEA. David was instrumental in establishing the Unit Scholarships so it is a fitting memorial that they be named in his honor.
The Unit Scholarship Drawing will be held at the Scholarships, Awards, and Grants Committee meeting in November. Three scholarships (one from each of the three ECOEA voting units) of $500 will be awarded by lottery drawing. Winners will be announced in the ECOEA newsletter. The application link will be posted here in September as well as in the ECOEA newsletter.

- Unit 3-Gretchen Bagley, Canton Professional Educators’ Association
The 2024 Augusta Unit Scholarship recipients are:
- Unit 1- Kristine Twigg, Fairless Education Association
- Unit 2- Eric Brenner, Triway Education Association
- Unit 3- Paige Doyle, North Canton Education Association
