East Central Ohio Education Association THE DAVID AUGUSTA UNIT SCHOLARSHIPS
David Augusta was a lifelong passionate member for public education and served ECOEA as President and Executive Director. David also served on the OEA Board of Directors representing ECOEA and as an NEA Director. David retired from Louisville City Schools and continued his career as an educator at Stark State College. David was instrumental in establishing the Unit Scholarships so it is a fitting memorial that they be named in his honor.
The Unit Scholarship Drawing was held at the Scholarships, Awards, and Grants Committee meeting in November. Three scholarships (one from each of the three ECOEA voting units) of $500 were announced at the ECOEA Fall Rep Assembly on November 15. Congratulations to this year’s winners:

- Unit 3-Gretchen Bagley, Canton Professional Educators’ Association
The 2024 Augusta Unit Scholarship recipients are:

- Unit 2- Eric Brenner, Triway Education Association
- Unit 3- Paige Doyle, North Canton Education Association
