There are several programs that teachers may utilize to have part of their consolidated federal student loans forgiven. Use the above link to the federal government site that explains the programs, the criteria, and forms to apply. In some cases, if a parent is employed in a public service job (such as a teacher) and has taken a parent PLUS loan for a child’s education, the parent might also qualify for loan forgiveness.
